I believe Black would be joining, let's make mouz German for now, and mTw is basically French. Redefining history 05:55, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for all your work[]

I appreciate your work maintaining the competitive scene, as I'm sure many others do. From all of us: thanks. --Kroocsiogsi 23:36, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

So we don't edit at the same time[]

Hey can you get in this wiki's IRC so we don't edit over the same things at the same time? That way we can coordinate the edits a bit better if we are editing at the same time :D Anyway i'll just wait until your done editing before i fix the schedules of the rounds. Can you also add a Squads link/page to the page as well? On the IRC, chocolate said we should probably do this b/c users tried creating team pages with the rosters which for a lot of teams is all temporary at the moment. Thanks! -Peacekeeper94 20:20, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

E-mail contact info[]

Hi there. I would like to contact you privately over e-mail, could you please set an e-mail in Special:Preferences and tick the box labelled Enable e-mail from other users. Thanks, -RJ 20:45, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Sure, just did so. -Hybridshiek 21:30, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Classifying Tournaments[]

Hello. I think we are at the point that there are too much tournaments, which looks messy on the Tournaments page, that we have to separate them based on certain notability guidelines. Can you come on the IRC to discuss this? Your input will be appreciated. Redefining history 03:46, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Sure thing, will you be able to discuss this later today (after 22:00 UTC)? If not, I did have an idea of sorting tournaments similarly to how we separate them in the Tournament Navigation. I think it might also be useful to sort Past Tournaments so that the most recent tournaments come first (since I think viewers are more likely to be looking for more recent results). -Hybridshiek 16:26, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Tournament Items and Tournament Pages[]

Instead of making separate pages for the tournament tickets themselves, why not just put the content from the tournament pages onto the ticket pages instead? The tournament pages include both the tournament itself and the ticket. --LolCakeLazors 21:41, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

I'm not really sure what you mean. I haven't been making new tournament ticket pages recently. For the latest tournaments (such as atoD), I just added the ticket info to the tournament page. -Hybridshiek 2:22, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
I mean if you go to the Tournament Ticket Page, some tickets lead to a ticket page rather than the tournament page that includes the tournament info and the ticket itself. I think it would be easier to just merge the two. --LolCakeLazors 02:31, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. You might want to run it by a mod before merging the two though. -Hybridshiek 07:26, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Tournament VODs[]

Do you think putting VODs next to the tournament brackets and lists would be a bad idea? It's not that much work. I don't know, just a suggestion

--LolCakeLazors 23:02, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

It's not a bad idea. The problem is that adding in all the vods/bans/picks adds a lot of data to the page. I was doing it for every match for Starladder Season 3, but it caused several problems, so I eventually took them out. I would love to have that data on the page, but it doesn't seem feasible. -Hybridshiek 0:03, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
I mean we could add a little TV icon next to the bracket. --LolCakeLazors 00:09, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Sounds good to me if you know how to do it. -Hybridshiek 4:16, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Ok, great. And try to get on IRC a bit, I'm usually on and we can discuss changes. --LolCakeLazors 04:47, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Tournament infobox season navigation box[]

Hey, I added a navigation box for multiple season league tournaments in my sandbox. Any thoughts? Possible implementation? The added fields are "lastseason, lastname, nextseason, nextname". --LolCakeLazors 00:26, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

I really like it! But for future reference, I'm not a mod or anything. You don't have to get my permission to do stuff. =D -Hybridshiek 02:26, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
I just felt that I had to since you're the one basically updating all of the competition pages. --LolCakeLazors 05:02, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Haha, I guess that's true. I don't mind hearing your ideas, but I think any big changes you want to make should be run by Redefining history. He's the admin that oversees competitive scene stuff. -Hybridshiek 07:15, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

come over to IRC[]

Navbox problem[]

Hi, I noticed that Template:Single-hero cosmetic item nav goes completely haywire on some pages, like Frostiron Raider Set, but not on others, like Arctic Hunter Set. I also notice the problem pages don't put themselves into categories like others. I couldn't find the problem in the source, but I found some interesting articles on MediaWiki.

Magic Words And something about enabling subpages, which appear to be only doable by admins

This is all beyond my understanding, can you help me fix this? Thanks ^^

-Lemoncream (talk) 09:40, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Hey, both of the pages look similar to me. Are you talking about the Dictionary/definedex template error (seen on pages like Baekho & Nexon Sponsorship League Bundle)? If you are, I know what you're talking about, but have no idea how to fix it. Unfortunately, it's beyond my understanding as well, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Buy Now button. I've alerted some of the other mods, so hopefully there will be some sort of fix soon. Thanks for letting me know though. -Hybridshiek (talk) 09:54, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
No... I'm talking about the cosmetics infobox on the bottom (You gotta unhide it). Other people are reporting the same problem... so I know it's not on my end :( - Lemoncream (talk) 10:25, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Ooooo, I see it now. Yeah, I'm not really sure what's causing that or how to fix it. Robjackson might be able to help you though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help! -Hybridshiek (talk) 10:28, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

ESWC 2013[]

why did you delete the group?

go see the sites were grouped.

bring back the Fast to an earlier state.

The formatting was messed up, and I didn't get a chance to fix it. -Hybridshiek (talk) 20:11, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Star Ladder[]

Sorry for bothering, but why should the Star Ladder be deleted? – Ricci «T | C» 11:07, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Err, nevermind. – Ricci «T | C» 11:26, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
Name is inconsistent with the actual tournament pages for each season of Starladder. In addition, it's not really necessary since we have pages for each season and links between them, as well as a tournament nav at the bottom if people want to navigate between them. A page just for Starladder seems unnecessary to me. -Hybridshiek (talk) 20:56, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Why did you remove all the stuff I added to his profile page? He and I talked for more than two hours and he was content with his page. (Making page consistent with other player pages (way too much unnecessary info)) Is that a good reason? Cause most pages hardly have any information, you ruin all my effort? Pathetic! In case you're not familiar with wiki pages of personalities, I suggest that you check Wikipedia. Come on!!!!! Do you really call that a wiki page? Fuck that, I'm outta here. o/

Your info was poorly formatted, and much of it had no source and was unverifiable. You provided no proof that you "talked to him for two hours." The wiki is to talk about the players' Dota 2 careers, not irrelevant information like what dogs they own. You are welcome to add info about what teams AB has been on, but information like what he said at an after-party is really not wiki worthy. -Hybridshiek (talk) 16:58, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Adding a video link[]

Hey, I would like to suggest adding a youtube video link next to each match in the results section. It helps viewers watch matches they missed.
Instead of labeling a "walkover" match next to the losing team, we can add it instead of the "watch" link.
here what the format can be like: Date Team A result Team B watch/walkover
I look forward hearing from you
The preceding unsigned comment was added by ‎Patrikgates (talk) • (contribs)

Sounds like a good idea. Might be difficult/time-consuming to get VODs for every match though. If you're willing to implement it though, it would definitely be a nice addition to the wiki. -Hybridshiek (talk) 19:14, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
If we start from the current tournaments it would be fairly easy. We can skip past tournaments for now.
I can add videos to the Dota 2 Champions Leagues tournament, since my time allows me to follow only this tournament.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by ‎Patrikgates (talk) • (contribs)
Sounds good. Also, make sure to sign your comments. You can use "-~~~~" as a shortcut. -Hybridshiek (talk) 17:22, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
I will add the link in the "stadium" cell, since I don't know how to change the format of the results entries -Patrikgates (talk) 19:07, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
Hey, just wanted to say that I really like what you've done so far! We don't usually use the stadium cell, so it's fine to use that for VODs. -Hybridshiek (talk) 17:55, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for that. For the playoffs, I can utilize the space above each match to put the links -Patrikgates (talk) 09:11, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Item pages[]

Hi. Please, don't revert me work on items pages. First, autor link must be with "/?appid=570" to filter Dota 2 from other games - like links on Dota 2 Store. Second, don't remove "Set items" template. Without it, page looks like very empty. I think this template most helpfull and must be used in every items that have Set. Thank you --eЯmac.hdp (talk) 06:10, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Ah, okay. Sorry about that. For the Set Items template, it wasn't on the other cosmetic set pages that I saw before, so I took it out for consistency. -Hybridshiek (talk) 16:01, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
No problem mate ;). Thats why I updating all item pages, starting from Abaddon. (now, on D letter, Dark Seer). You can look on Abaddon's or Bounty Hunter's item pages like examples. Anyway, thank you for renaming (correcting) Set names of many sets! =) --eЯmac.hdp (talk) 16:06, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

About Cosmetic Item Template[]

Hi again. I must to say about cosmetic item template, where you remove and add some parameters. (f.e. this -

1. String "giftable = No" and "| paintable = No" anyway didn't displayed on page. Even if you type "Yes' this parameters will not shows (removed from template.)

2. Parameter "marketable" automatically shows like "Yes", so you don't need to put "| marketable = Yes". If item is not marketable - ofcourse we must to put "marketable = No". If you remove from page this parameter, anyway its will be displayed on page like Yes.

3. And this template automatically set category Equipment.

So you no need to use these words, they will automatically be displayed on page. ;) --eЯmac.hdp (talk) 11:03, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello. I maked a page of my team kompas.gaming in Dota2Wiki. Then you deleted it, but we are participate in this (and win it-700$ USD and slot in star series) and in other tournaments (I can give you our acievments). Can you add me in Steam to talk? I add you. My nickname is Yomi-Yumi. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Teflqwerty (talk) • (contribs)

In order to have a page on the wiki, a team must be sponsored and needs to be top 4 in a tournament with at least 8 teams, 6 of which should already be on the wiki. See Help:Notability guidelines for the information. Your team does not fit these criteria. Also, I did not delete the page. I moved it to under your User Page User:Teflqwerty/Kompas.gaming so you can keep it up to date if you wish. -Hybridshiek (talk) 17:18, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, can you make a redirecting? I don't need my team in pro list, I just want to have beautiful URL :) The preceding unsigned comment was added by Teflqwerty (talk) • (contribs)
So will you help me or not? -Teflqwerty (talk)
Just redirected the page you requested. -Hybridshiek (talk) 18:08, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
Thank you!-Teflqwerty (talk)

revert changes without reason[]

Why did you revert my changes here? --Crimsonvspurple (talk) 07:30, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

That page is for the tournament ticket (from the Dota 2 Store). If you want, you can make a new one for the tournament, but you changed an already existing page. -Hybridshiek (talk) 12:45, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

From Ermachdp[]

Hi, its Ermac. I made a mistake today when revert vandalism edit in russian pages, and bunned myself. And I can't unban myself. Please, look my last ban in changelog, I ban my own IP adress, and I can't revert it. Can you please remove a ban from that IP? Thanks. Ermachdp (you can check it in chengelog, my owm IP is I banned it. )

It looks like has already been unblocked by Robjackson (gives me an error when I try to unblock it). Is that the IP address that you were talking about, or is it a different one? -Hybridshiek (talk) 20:06, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
yes, its my IP. RJ unblocked, but I still have ban on account and IP. I can edit only from mobile phone with other IP. If I logging from another IP to my account - I can edit. When my IP - still have ban. Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem? Maybe I have ban on account? Ermachdp
It doesn't look like there are any blocks on your account. The only thing I can think of is that when you blocked your IP, you checked the box to "Prevent logged-in users from editing from this IP address," and it didn't go away after you were unblocked. I blocked and unblocked you again to maybe reset it. Can you test if that helped? -Hybridshiek (talk) 21:13, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
Its ok! Lemon banned me for 2 hours, then ban-time over and ban has been removed! Thanks you for your help! --eЯmac.hdp (talk) 09:44, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
Glad to hear it! =) -Hybridshiek (talk) 23:04, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Redirects and Semantic Media Wiki[]

Hey Hybridshiek, you may have noticed SMW not working correctly a couple times tonight. With a data set as large as what is on dota2, it can be super finicky. We've had it severely affect the performance of the wiki saturday AM as well as tonight, about 3 hours ago. We've finally identified the issue. When a page is heavily relied on by other pages through semantic, renaming it and leaving a redirect causes an infinite redirect loop in SMW jobs queue. Tonight, this happened when you renamed Light_of_the_Solar_Divine_Set to Light_of_the_Solar_Divine and left a redirect. I know it is not optimal to rename a page and not leave a redirect, but until SMW comes out with a fix for this issue, it is the only way to avoid these issues. So please from now on, when a page that is linked to a bunch and relied on by another pages is moved, do not leave a redirect.

If you want to talk about this future, you can pm me on IRC (CrsSmokie) or email me @

Thanks, and sorry for any issues this may cause. - Smokie (talk) 04:04, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know! I'll be sure to avoid redirecting in the future then. -Hybridshiek (talk) 04:06, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

International Compendium[]

Hey Hybrid, I wasn't trying to troll or anything when I changed the International 2014 Compendium page. I based it off the Portfolio of Heroes page (which at the time said 1), and I only received 1 myself, so I assumed it to be true. I won't change it back, but everyone I know received 1, and I don't know where on the page you said 3 are to be given. --PimpadelicX (talk) 06:47, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

I agree with you that people have only received one as the default (I have myself as well), but I believe that's an oversight by Valve, either in the number they handed out or on the compendium page (on this page, if you mouseover the second stretch goal, it says that three treasures should be granted as the default). Since it could just be an error on Valve's part, I think we should leave it as is for now, since the page does say that three should be given. -Hybridshiek (talk) 06:53, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

Americas Qualifier[]

Round 13, Liquid > SotP (Liquid won) - -- 17:48, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. It has been fixed. -Hybridshiek (talk) 18:34, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

We need you[]

Where did you go? We need you to make tournament pages like Dota 2 Asia Championship 2015! Please come back >: - Lemoncake(talk) 01:43, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
