Teleportation is a form of movement that instantly moves a target from one point to another.
The most common teleports are Blink from Blink Dagger and Teleport from Town Portal Scroll. Teleports can be distinguishing by a variety of properties and may be treated differently by different effects.
Mechanics
A teleport changes the affected unit's current coordinations. Unlike forced movement, the effect is instant and has no travel time.
Although the same from a mechanical point of view, these instantly movin effects can be divided into the following:
- Teleporting: Global teleportation of any kind
- Blinking: Short-ranged teleportation affecting the casting unit
- Reposition: Short-range forced teleportation of other units
Most blinking and teleporting abilities may be disabled and not castable while rooted or leashed. They also most of the time disjoint projectiles. However, these properties are inconsistent and depend on the individual abilities. Some globally teleporting abilities have some sort of delay before the teleport, coming in the form of an effect delay, a long cast time, or a channeling.
Teleporting Abilities
The following abilities can teleport a unit globally.
- Teleports the Tempest Double back to Arc Warden when recast.
- Teleport Delay: 6
Teleports the targeted persuaded unit towards Chen's current location after the delay. - Teleport Delay:
Requires Aghanim's Shard. Teleports the targeted ally towards the team's fountain after the delay. - Teleports the targeted enemy hero towards where they were 4 seconds ago. The teleport happens once the visual projectile reaches that location. The projectile travels at a speed of 600, or reaches the location within 1.8 seconds, whichever is faster.
- Channel Time: 1.3
Requires Aghanim's Shard. Teleports Elder Titan towards the Astral Spirit's location if the channeling succeeds while Autocast is turned on. - Enemy Duration: 4
Ally Duration: 8
Teleports the targeted hero towards where they were as the ability was cast on them once the duration is up. The Return sub-ability may be used to shorten the duration. - Teleports the Spirit Bear back to Lone Druid when recast.
- Cast Time: 1.5
Teleports the casting Meepo towards the targeted Meepo, or the closest Meepo towards the targeted point upon cast. - Cast Time: 3
Teleports Nature's Prophet towards the targeted point upon cast. - Teleports Puck towards the current location of the Illusory Orb upon cast.
- Teleports the hooked unit towads Pudge's current location once the hook fully retracted. This teleport is independent of the forced movement and is always applied, meaning if the forced movement got interrupted and the targeted freed from the hook, they still get teleported once the hook fully retracted.
- Channel Time: 1.5
Requires Aghanim's Scepter. Teleports Templar Assassin towards the targeted Psionic Trap's location, or the closest Psionic Trap towards the targeted point if the channeling succeeds. - Base Channel Time: 3
Teleports the user towards the targeted building if the channeling succeeds. Can teleport to non-hero units when upgraded with Boots of Travel and heroes when upgraded with Boots of Travel 2. When not upgraded, the channeling time increases for each player that teleported towards the same building within a short time. Teleports Underlord and all allied heroes within its radius towards the targeted unit after the delay. - Teleports Weaver ( or the targeted allied hero) towards where they were 5 seconds ago upon cast.
Blinking Abilities
The following abilities can teleport the caster short distances.
- Max Distance: 1400
Teleports the user towards the targeted point. - Max Distance: 1200
Teleports the user towards the targeted point. - Teleports Chaos Knight and all his nearby illusions next to the targeted unit. The target gets teleported a fixed distance, so the teleport distance for Chaos Knight and the illusions varies based on where the target lands.
- Max Distance: 1200
Teleports the user towards the targeted point. - Min Distance: 200
Max Distance: 600
Teleports the user towards a random point in front of them.This is an old ability. - Cast Range: 425
Search Radius: 425
Teleports Juggernaut towards the targeted unit upon cast. After that, teleports Juggernaut towards random enemies within the search radius until Omnislash ends. - Cast Range: 1
Max Distance: 425
Teleports Juggernaut towards the targeted unit upon cast. After that, teleports Juggernaut towards random enemies within the search radius until Swiftslash ends. - Max Distance: 1200
Teleports the user towards the targeted point. - Cast Range: 1000
Teleports Phantom Assassin towards the targeted unit. - Cast Range: 575

Teleports Phantom Lancer and all his nearby illusions towards the targeted area, appearing in random points within that area. - Max Distance: 200
Teleports Queen of Pain towards the targeted point. - Cast Range: 600/700/800/900
Teleports Riki towards the targeted unit. - Cast Range: 700
Teleports Spirit Breaker towards the targeted unit. - Max Distance: 1200
Teleports the user towards the targeted point. - Cast Range: 800/950/1100
Teleports Vengeful Spirit and the targeted unit, swapping their positions. - First Ring Radius: 520
Second Ring Radius:
Teleports Void Spirit towards the center of the selected ring.
Repositioning Abilities
The following abilities can teleport other units short distances against their will.
