The Steam Holiday Sale 2013 was a Steam event that began on December 19, 2013 and ended on January 3, 2014. By participating in the occasion, users could collect event-specific Steam trading cards that could be combined to craft a Snow Globe 2013 profile badge. Every time a player crafted the badge, they were awarded an in-game item for use in one of several participating games (with Dota 2 being among them). Players became eligible for rarer items the more times they crafted the badge.
