Status resistance is an attribute of a hero that reduces the duration of most status debuffs and the slow values of slows. By default, every unit has a base status resistance of zero.

Mechanics[edit]
Status resistance affects all kind of debuffs, but generally only affects modifiers placed by enemies, and not ones placed by allies. Status resistance does not affect all modifiers, there are some exceptions, mainly for technical reasons. When a unit's status resistance is modified, the new value is only applied to debuffs placed after the modification, meaning already placed debuffs are unaffected.
- Aura modifiers and other permanent modifiers are usually not reduced, since they have no duration to reduce. Although auras have a linger duration, that duration is not reduced either.
- If a permanent modifier slows, its slow value may get reduced, though this is inconsistent between such modifiers.
- If a temporary modifier deals damage over time, its duration is not reduced. If the modifier applies a slow, the slow value is reduced instead.
- If a temporary damage over time modifier applies a form of disable that is not a slow, its duration does get reduced, but its damage tick interval gets adapted to the reduced duration, so that the total damage stays the same.
- If an essential part of a temporary modifier's purpose is delaying another effect or showing another effect's delay, it is not reduced.
- If a spell affects secondary targets, and the secondary target's duration is based on the primary target, the duration on it may get reduced as well, based on the primary target's status resistance. There are some exceptions to this though.
- Negative status resistance works exactly the same as positive status resistance. It is the same mechanic, with merely negative values.
Stacking[edit]
All sources of status resistance stack multiplicatively. This means a unit's status resistance value changes less the higher its status resistance is, and more the lower it is. This prevents a unit from reaching 100% status resistance by stacking different sources up.
Status resistance bonus from Sange-based items, such as Sange and Yasha, Kaya and Sange and Heaven's Halberd do not stack with each other.

Debuff duration and debuff duration manipulation[edit]
Similar to status resistance, which affects incoming debuffs' durations, debuff duration manipulation affects outgoing durations instead. Any ability whose duration would be reduced by status resistance will have its duration increased by debuff duration increases.

Other interactions[edit]
- Reduces duration normally when cast on enemy. When transfered to another enemy via an attack command, the invulnerability modifier always uses the base duration and is then reduced by the new target's status resistance, while the Nightmare modifier copies the previous target's reduced duration, and then gets further reduced by the new target's status resistance.
- Reduces duration of all debuffs it can place, on primary and secondary targets. On secondary targets, the knockback speed adapts to the reduced duration, so that the knockback distance is kept the same.
- Reduces the duration normally. When the target has more than 75% status resistance, it no longer gets automatically returned upon expiring.
- Reduces the duration. The slow tick rate does not adapt to the reduced duration.
- Reduces the debuff duration on the target. The debuff on the caster does not adapt.
- When applied by attacks, only reduces the slow duration after the explosion. Does not affect the initial debuff. When applied with Burrowstrike, does reduce the initial debuff duration, on top of reducing the slow duration.
- Self buff duration is reduced along with enemy debuff duration.
- Self buff duration is reduced along with enemy debuff duration.
- Reduces the debuff duration on the target. The penalties on the caster do not adapt.
- Reduces trail creating debuff duration. When directly targeted, may reduce slow debuff duration. When not directly targeted, does not affect slow debuff.
- When activated via the sub-spell on the caster or via Psionic Projection, only reduces the slow value. When activated via the sub-spell on the trap itself, reduces slow value and duration, and increases damage per tick.

- Fixed status resistance reducing Fiend's Grip's damage and mana drain per second.
- Fixed status resistance reducing Life Drain's and Purifying Flames's duration.
- The following spells now tick their damage faster when reduced by status resistance (to keep the same total damage): Ice Blast, Flaming Lasso, Bramble Maze, Doom, Shackles, Overgrowth and Entangling Claws.
- Fixed the following spells getting reduced for all hit enemies, instead of only for units who have status resistance: Blood Rite, Hookshot, Vacuum, Fissure, Searing Chains, Ice Path, Torrent's slow, Frost Blast, Mana Drain, Savage Roar, Boundless Strike, Rip Tide, Fortune's End, Concussive Shot, Overload, Anchor Smash, Fatal Bonds, Reincarnation slow and Magic Weakness
- Fixed the following stack-based debuffs not being reduced after the first stack: Sticky Napalm and Jingu Mastery
- Shadow Poison debuff is no longer reduced by status resistance.
- Fixed the following debuffs being reduced twice by status resistance: Telekinesis primary target lift stun, Last Word silence, Grave Chill slow and Ether Blast slow.
- Fixed status resistance reducing the duration when self-casting X Marks the Spot.
- Fixed status resistance inconsistently reducing Storm Hammer's duration depending on the units in the AoE.
