Restoration manipulation refers to any form of amplification and reduction applied to health restoration (also known as heals), lifesteal, health regeneration, mana restoration, and mana regeneration.

Heal Manipulation[]
Heal manipulation affects every ability that heals a unit. A list of healing abilities can be found here.
All sources of heal manipulation whether incoming or outgoing stack diminishingly with each other. Heal manipulation has a lower limit of -100%.
The following abilities provide heal manipulation
- Health Restoration Reduction: 45%/50%/55%/60%
Reduces all health restoration on the target. - Health Restoration Reduction: 40%
Affects the attacked enemy. - Heal Amplification: 15%
Aura, affects all nearby allies. - Heal Amplification: 30%
Amplifies all healing the item owner provides. - Self Restoration Amplification: 45%/55%/65%/75%
Affects the caster. - Heal Amplification: 14%
Amplifies all healing the item owner provides. - Health Restoration Reduction: 25%
Aura, affects all nearby enemies. - Health Restoration Reduction: 45%

Lifesteal Manipulation[]
Lifesteal manipulation affects every ability that has lifesteal. This does not include spell lifesteal. A list of lifesteal abilities can be found here.
All sources of lifesteal manipulation stack multiplicative with each other and has a lower limit of -100%.

Health regeneration manipulation affects explicitly the health regeneration value of affected units.

Stacking[]
Heal, health regeneration, lifesteal, and spell lifesteal amplifications stack diminishingly, so do reductions. However, amplifications and reductions are calculated separately, and then the sum of reductions gets subtracted from the sum of the amplifications.
The total restoration manipulation multiplier for the total heal amount is defined as
Total Restoration Multiplier = 1 + (1 - (1 - Reductions i)) - (1 - (1 - Amplifications i))
When there are no amplifications or no reductions, use 0 as a value for those cases.
- Example 1
- Treant Protector affected by Nature's Guise, Freezing Aura, Cold Attack, and has a Sange in his inventory. What is his current total restoration manipulation multiplier?
- Amplifications: Nature's Guise: 0.4, Sange: 0.2
- Reductions: Freezing Aura: 0.25, Cold Attack: 0.4
- Restoration Multiplier
- = (1 - (1 - 0.2) × (1 - 0.4)) - (1 - (1 - 0.25) × 1 - 0.4))
- = 0.97
- Treant Protector's restoration manipulator in this example would be reduced down to 97%, giving us a restoration multiplier of 0.97.
Health Freeze[]
A unit's health can also be frozen, so that no heals, lifesteal, or regeneration can increase it.

The debuff prevents the current health of affected units from increasing.
However, Health Freeze does not prevent the following abilities from increasing the hero's health:

All sources of mana restore manipulation stack additively with each other.

Recent Changes[]
- Lifesteal manipulation no longer affects spell lifesteal.
- Added spell lifesteal manipulation as a separate mechanic.
- Heal manipulation, health regen manipulation, lifesteal manipulation and spell lifesteal manipulation now stack diminishingly, instead of additively.
- Fixed heal manipulation affecting lifesteal as well. Now, only lifesteal manipulation does.
