Additional Information[]
- The item's attributes grants the following bonuses:
- 500 health and 2.5 health regeneration.
- 25 main attack damage to
heroes.
Ability[]
After teleportation, all enemies in a 800 AoE have 50% movement speed slow and 50 attack speed slow for 6 seconds, and take damage equal to 100 + 150% of your strength.
Overwhelming Blink cannot be used for 3 seconds after taking damage from an enemy hero or Roshan.
Notes:
- Disjoints projectiles upon cast.
- Does not blink for the full distance when targeting closer than the maximum distance.
- When point-targeted beyond the maximum blink distance, it blinks using the 960 range penalty distance, towards the targeted direction instead of maximum distance.
- ↓↓ Double-tapping automatically casts it on the team's fountain, blinking towards its direction using the penalty distance.
- The second sound only plays when the blinked distance is greater than 960. It is audible to everyone.
- Overwhelming Blink first applies the debuff, then the damage.
- Damage greater than 0 from any player (including allies, excluding self) or Roshan puts Blink on a 3 second cooldown.
- The damage cooldown always triggers, even if the item is dropped or before being purchased.
- The cooldown is unaffected by cooldown reduction. However, it is affected by cooldown resetting.
- HP Removal-based sources does not trigger the damage cooldown.
- Shares cooldown with Blink Dagger-based items.
- Does not share cooldown with Fallen Sky.
Recommended Heroes[]
This upgrade to the Blink Dagger turns it into a much more powerful initiating tool, a disabler, and a quick burst damage dealer. Best used on Strength heroes to take advantage of the AoE damage it deals upon teleporting in proportion to their strength. The slow dealt upon blinking cripples nearby enemies and slows their attack speed, allowing you to catch up on fast targets or simply slow lesser targets to a crawl and weaken their ability to retaliate with right clicks, allowing tanky heroes to take less damage in a unique way.
Since the blink is an AoE disable, you can save your other disables that you normally use after blinking (such as Hoof Stomp and Dragon Tail) for later until the slow wears off.
In some cases, this item can be useful in the hands of heroes who aren't strength-based. They can still benefit from the AoE damage it deals upon blinking, allowing them to deal damage in teamfights or solo kills just by teleporting. The MS and AS slow are still useful in crippling the enemy's escape, maneuverability, and retaliation via right clicks.
Tips[]
- Blink requires heroes to face the direction in which they are blinking. This means that heroes facing away from their blink destination will have to turn first, causing a slight delay depending on their turn rate.
- Hood of Defiance's barrier blocks damage over time, meaning that it will prevent items like Radiance from resetting Blink Dagger's cooldown.
- Use Blink to dodge incoming projectile-based spells such as Storm Hammer or Spirit Lance, and from items like Rod of Atos.
- When Blink dagger go into cooldown upon taking damage on an escape, a quick self-cast with Eul's Scepter of Divinity will allow you to wait the short cooldown relatively safely and blink out the moment you land on the ground.
- Blink Dagger can turn into a very strong escape tool if you are affected by False Promise.
