Neutral items are items obtained through tokens that are dropped by neutral creeps. They cannot be purchased or sold at shops and cannot be destroyed.
Each player may equip only one neutral item in a dedicated neutral item slot. Unused neutral items can be put in the dedicated stash within the fountain.
Drop Mechanics[]
- When killed, neutral creeps have a chance to drop a Token if there is a real hero (excluding illusions and clones) within 750 radius of the killed creep.
- Tokens do not drop if:
- The killing player is channeling Boots of Travel or Town Portal Scroll.
- There is a real enemy hero within radius of the killed creep. Clones and illusions do not count.
- The creep was taken over by a player before it was killed. It must belong to the neutral team to drop tokens.
- Tokens come in 5 tiers. Tokens from each tier start dropping based on the time on the game clock.
- The drop chance is calculated by pseudo-random distribution, and rolled individually for each team and each tier. Higher tiered tokens are rolled first. Ancient creeps have doubled drop rates.
- When a token drops, it quickly flies towards the hero it dropped for, landing right next to them.
- Freshly dropped tokens are visible through the Fog of War for the team it dropped for, until it is picked up.
- A maximum of five tokens per tier can drop for each team. This is even if a token gets stolen.
- This means, in case of a stolen token, the team ends up with 4 or less tokens of a tier.
- Each player can acquire one token of each tier, so a player can only acquire five neutral items in total, one per tier.
- If a second token of the same tier drops for the same player, it automatically gets teleported to the neutral items stash.
- This happens even if the player does not have their first-dropped token anymore (i.e. gave it to an ally or got stolen by an enemy).

Tokens[]
No Target
- Upon activation, the wielder can choose 1 out of 5 random neutral items of the token's tier.
- The token is consumed once the neutral item is chosen, and the neutral item chosen is granted.
- The neutral item granted is not shareable, and a hero can redeem 1 neutral item per tier.
- Neutral items claimed are not shareable and are muted when in other players' inventory.
- Each player has its own selection of neutral items, bound to the player.
- Neutral tokens cannot be exchanged between players for a different selection of neutral items.
- However, the tokens are fully shareable and can be sent to the Neutral Stash.
- Neutral Tokens can be used in the backpack, and cannot be equipped in the inventory.
Neutral Items Stash[]
Each team has a stash dedicated for neutral items within their fountain areas. These stashes are accessible to all players of the team. Players can stash their neutral items there by either dropping it within the fountain area, or by teleporting it to the stash by right-clicking it. Unlike with the regular stash, neutral items can be moved to their dedicated stash from anywhere on the map. Despite the visual effect, the teleport happens instantly.
A player can only teleport their own neutral items to the stash. Neutral items of allies or enemies are dropped at the fountain instead. Neutral items of allies cannot be seen in the stash, only the own items are visible.
Tokens are stored in the stash as well, and are visible to the team. The stash also shows the current status of all tokens found by the team:
- When in the stash, the icon appears normally, and the status reads "AVAILABLE".
- When equipped by a player, the icon appears darkened, and the status reads "EQUIPPED" and shows the player's hero icon.
- When in a player's backpack, the icon appears darkened, and the status reads "BACKPACK" and shows the player's hero icon in grey.
- When in a player's stash, the icon appears darkened, and the status reads "STASH" and shows the player's hero icon in grey.
- When in a player's courier, the icon appears darkened, and the status reads "COURIER" and shows the player's hero icon in grey.
- When on the ground, or when stolen by the enemy, the icon disappears darkened, no status is shown.
