Adaptive Strike (6.60-7.06f)
Launches a surge of water toward an enemy unit, stunning the target while dealing base damage plus additional damage based on Morphling's Agility times a multiplier. If Morphling's Agility is 50% higher than Strength, the maximum damage and the minimum stun is dealt. If his Strength is 50% higher than his Agility, the maximum stun and minimum damage are dealt.
Cast Range: 600/700/800/900
Base Damage: 100
Min Bonus Damage Agility Multiplier: 0.25
Max Bonus Damage Agility Multiplier: 0.5/1/1.5/2
Min Stun Duration: 0.25
Max Stun Duration: 1.25/2.25/3.25/4.25
The Morphling calls upon his elements to crush his opponents with waves.
- This ability was replaced by Adaptive Strike (Agility) and Adaptive Strike (Strength) in the 7.07 gameplay patch.
- The projectile travels at a speed of 1150.
- The multiplier and stun values are not fixed. They adapt linearly in smooth intervals depending on the difference between Morphling's agility and strength.
- The values change with each percent difference between agility and strength, even when it is just a minimal change.
- The multiplier and stun values also count bonus attributes, not only base attributes.
- When the current agility is 50% higher than the strength, the damage multiplier stops increasing and the stun duration stops decreasing.
- When the current strength is 50% higher than the agility, the damage multiplier stops decreasing and the stun duration stops increasing.
- The knock back uses the same rules as the stun, it stops decreasing when agility is 50% higher than strength, and stops increasing when strength is 50% higher.
- Knock back distance ranges from 100 to 300 units, knock back speed is 1000.
- Checks Morphling's stats upon projectile impact.
- Targeted neutral creeps do not draw aggro from lane creeps and towers and are ignored by auto-attacks and attack-move orders for 6 seconds.

Self
Morphling shifts its form, pulling points from Strength and pouring them into Agility. The process is reversible. Additional points in Morph increase the rate of stat change. Passively grants bonus Agility.
Shift Rate: 0.5/0.25/0.125/0.0625
Points per Shift: 1
Bonus Agility: 3/4/5/6
Mana Cost per Second: 30
Shifting water makes it difficult to discern the nature of Morphling.
- This ability was replaced by Attribute Shift (Agility Gain) in the 7.07 gameplay patch.
- Morph (Agility Gain) and Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 61: Could not find Cargo data for "Morph (Strength Gain)". are linked abilities; leveling up one automatically levels up the other as well.
- Morph does not interrupt Morphling's channeling spells upon toggling.
- Morph cannot be shift-queued, and unlike any other toggle spell in the game, can be toggled during the cast time of other spells.
- Converts 2/4/8/16 attribute points per second, resulting in the following changes per second:
- Agility: Morphling gains/loses 0.29/0.57/1.14/2.29 armor, 2/4/8/16 attack speed and 2/4/8/16 attack damage.
- Strength: Morphling gains/loses 40/80/160/320 maximum health and 0.12/0.24/0.48/0.96 health regeneration.
- Gaining or losing strength through Morph increases/reduces current health by 20 per point as well, instead of only maximum health.
- This means he effectively gets healed when morphing strength, or his health drained when morphing agility. The health loss is not lethal.
- Drains 15/7.5/3.75/1.875 mana on every shift, resulting in 30 mana per second.
- Morph continues to convert attributes even if Morphling is disabled.
- Can be toggled on and off while stunned, cycloned, slept, taunted, hidden, or during Forced Movement.
- Cannot be toggled on or off while silenced, hexed or prevented from acting.
- Toggling one Morph ability on automatically toggles the other off.
- If Morph cannot convert anymore due to lack of mana or attribute points, it stays toggled, but the process is paused until it can continue.
- Can only convert Morphling's base agility and strength. Bonus attributes cannot be converted.
- The passively added strength and agility are not added to the base attributes, and can therefore not be converted either.
- Morphed attributes are permanent and not reverted on death.
- The passive agility effectively increases Morphling's armor by 0.43/0.57/0.71/0.86 and attack speed as well as attack damage by 3/4/5/6.
- The passive strength effectively increases Morphling's health by 60/80/100/120 and health regeneration by 0.18/0.24/0.3/0.36.

Replicate
Ability
Target Unit
Target Unit
Morphling replicates any hero, friend or foe, dealing 80% of the original Hero's outgoing damage while taking 100% of any incoming damage. At any time, Morphling can instantly take the position of the Replicate for 150 mana. If Morphling dies, the Replicate will expire.
Cast Range: 700/1100/1500
Illusion Damage Dealt: 80%
Illusion Damage Taken: 100%
Illusion Duration: 30/45/60
Staring into Morphling produces a reflection that mimics the beholder.
- Replicate cannot be cast on the caster themselves or any illusions under their control.
- However, any illusion under allied or enemy control can be targeted, including illusions of Morphling under their control.
- When the illusion is created, this ability is temporarily replaced by Morph Replicate (Pre 7.07) until the illusion disappears.
- Both, the illusion and Morphling have a timer above them, showing how many seconds are left for the illusion to expire. This timer is only visible to Morphling.
- When replicating an ally, the illusion carries the ally's name, instead of Morphling's, so enemies cannot tell if it is just a replicate, or the real hero.
- The illusion spawns 108 range away from the target if the hero has a collision size of 24, and 72 if the collision size is 8. It appears either north, east, south or west from the target.
- Faceless Void replicates are able to walk inside any Chronosphere. A replicate created from an allied Faceless Void is even granted the phased movement and haste inside it.
- This also goes for replicates from an allied Rubick and his stolen Chronosphere.
- Once purchased, Morphling cannot drop or sell his Aghanim's Scepter.

Morphling switches into his replication, instantly taking its position.
- Replaced Replicate until the illusion expired or this ability was cast.
- Despite being a sub-spell, Morph Replicate does proc all on-cast effects like a regular spell.
- Disjoints projectiles upon cast.
- The illusion disappears when Morphling uses this ability.
- Can be cast successfully even while the replicate is invulnerable or hidden.
- When the illusion's ownership changes, Morph Replicate still fully works.
Hybrid
Ability
Target Unit
Target Unit
Morphling creates a hybrid replication of a target allied hero, which can cast all of that hero's current, non-ultimate abilities. Enemies are able to see which unit is a Hybrid.
Cast Range: 600
Illusion Damage Dealt: 50%
Illusion Damage Taken: 100%
Illusion Duration: 20
- Required Aghanim's Scepter to be unlocked.
- Can only be cast on allied heroes, including their illusions. Cannot be cast on any illusion of Morphling.
- The Hybrid illusion can use any ability of its source, except for ultimates and abilities granted by Aghanim's Scepter.
- The abilities follow the same rules as Rubick's Spell Steal. The rules can be viewed here.
- It cannot level up any abilities. Their levels are equal to what the original hero had them on as the Hybrid was created.
- The Hybrid can fully use any passive ability of the hero, if they can affect illusions. This includes passive ultimates.
- If a buff gets carried over to illusions upon creation (like most transformation spells), the Hybrid illusion gets it as well. This includes buffs from ultimates.
- If the targeted ally has Aghanim's Scepter, the Hybrid gets its spells upgraded as well.
- The illusion's attributes mirror Morphling's base attributes. They are set upon cast and do not adapt dynamically. Attributes gained from Morphling's items do not affect the illusion.
- The illusion spawns 108 range away from the target if the hero has a collision size of 24, and 72 if the collision size is 8. It appears either north, east, south or west from the target.
- The illusion has a timer above it, showing how many seconds are left for the illusion to expire. This timer is only visible to Morphling.
- Unlike most other illusions, illusions created by Hybrid have no bounty.

The Morphling's Attribute Bonus adds a straight up 2 points to agility, strength and intelligence. You don't see the icon and bonus points become part of Morphling's base attributes.

- Morphling used this modified version of Attribute Bonus in the gameplay patches 6.04 to 6.28.

- This means these extra attributes could be used by Morph.

The Morphling can steal a spell cast by any nearby unit. The copied spell is of the same level as it spell was copied from.
- This ability got removed in the 6.04 gameplay patch.
- When toggled on, Morphling gains the next spell a hero casts within the radius. This includes allied heroes.
- In order to steal a new spell, Spell Steal must be toggled off and then on again. Only 1 ability is stolen per toggle.
- Can only steal hero spells. Every other spell cast within the radius is not registered.
- The following hero abilities cannot be stolen: Dark Flames, Elder Dragon Form, Spin Web, Summon Spirit Bear, Return, Eclipse, Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 61: Could not find Cargo data for "Rabid"., One, Battle Cry, True Form, Berserker's Rage, Metamorphosis, Freezing Field, Omnislash, Nether Swap, Sprout, Mana Leak, Entrench, Thundergod's Wrath, Shapeshift, Searing Arrows, Ante Up.
- Words of the developer back then: "Yeah, I'm really sad but we ended up removing Spellsteal. It afforded a lot of troubles, and we decided that it was just too much trouble to cope with. We actually are at a complete loss as to a 4th skill for him; right now he can just get 4 more levels of stats because he cannot reasonably use anything else: attack bonuses he doesn't need, defense bonuses he doesn't need since he keeps Blink, more nuking he doesn't need, superior farming he doesn't need...etc etc. We decided 4 more levels of stats is all he wants anyway."
