Split Shot (7.07-7.27a)[]
Split Shot (7.07-7.27a)
Medusa magically splits her shot into several arrows. These arrows deal a lower percent of her normal damage.
The extra targets will not receive other attack effects (such as critical strike).
The extra targets will not receive other attack effects (such as critical strike).
- This ability was reworked into the current Split Shot in the 7.27b gameplay patch.
- Causes Medusa to perform instant attacks on a certain number of enemies whenever she launches an attack projectile.
- This means all projectiles are released at the same time together with the main attack.
- Therefore, it does not matter whether the primary attack misses or not, the extra arrows are still released.
- The primary attack target is not affected by Split Shot. It is only hit by the primary attack, which deals full attack damage to it.
- The extra arrows travel at the same speed as the primary arrow.
- The search radius is based on Medusa's attack range + 100, resulting in a search radius of 700, considering her default attack range.
- The instant attacks of Split Shot may not proc any attack modifiers or on-hit effects, unless the talent which allows them to do so is chosen.
- However, they still count as regular attacks. Damage done by Split Shot does not count as spell damage.
- They are also affected by armor type, and blocked by damage block like regular attacks.
- If Medusa is blinded, Split Shots can miss, unless she has True Strike. They can also miss to evasion.
- Does not target wards, buildings, invisible units, attack immune units, or units inside the Fog of War, but does target couriers.
- However, attacking wards or buildings still causes secondary arrows to hit valid targets within the radius.
- Secondary arrows are not released upon attacking allies.

Search Radius: 700
Attack Damage Reduction: 20%
All who encounter the cursed Gorgon will feel her rage.
- This ability was reworked into the following Split Shot in the 7.07 gameplay patch.
- Split Shot does not interrupt Medusa's channeling spells upon toggling.
- Causes Medusa to perform instant attacks on a certain number of enemies whenever she launches an attack projectile.
- This means all projectiles are released at the same time together with the main attack.
- Therefore, it does not matter whether the primary attack misses or not, the extra arrows are still released.
- The search radius is a fixed value and does not adapt to Medusa's current attack range.
- The primary attack target is not affected by Split Shot. It is only hit by the primary attack.
- The extra arrows travel at the same speed as the primary arrow, and can be disjointed like regular attacks.
- Unlike most other instant attacks, the ones from Split Shot may not proc any attack modifiers or on-hit effects.
- However, they still count as regular attacks. Damage done by Split Shot does not count as spell damage.
- They are also affected by armor type, and blocked by damage block like regular attacks.
- If Medusa is blinded, Split Shots can miss, unless she has True Strike. They can also miss to evasion.
- Does not target wards, buildings, invisible units, or units inside the Fog of War in range, but does target couriers.
- However, attacking wards or buildings still causes secondary arrows to hit valid targets within the radius.
- When toggled on, Medusa's main attack damage and bonus attack damage are reduced.
- Other sources of damage added to the primary attack are not reduced (e.g. bash from items).
- The reduction displayed in the HUD is inaccurate, as it is based on the main attack damage, instead of main and bonus damage.
- Split Shot persists through Medusa's death. If Split Shot was active upon death, she respawns with it active.

- Can be cast on allies and enemies. Can be cast on invulnerable units.

- Level 2: 100%/66.66%/33.33%
- Level 3: 100%/75%/50%/25%
- Level 4: 100%/85.71%/71.42%/57.14%/42.86%/28.57%/14.28%
- This means, leveling the ability downgraded it, as the slow got weaker faster.
Split Shot (Pre 5.61)[]
Search Radius: 600
Number of Arrows: 2/3/4/5
Damage per Arrow: 35/45/55/65
- This ability replaced Split Shot (Pre 6.00) in the 5.54 gameplay patch, and was replaced back by Mana Shield in the 5.61 gameplay patch.
- Before 5.54 Split Shot name was Multi Shot.
- This ability worked similar to Quill Spray and Scream of Pain, deals damage in a small radius around Medusa [?].
- However, instead of damaging all enemies in the search radius it had 2/3/4/5 target cap.
- This ability could be toggled on. This caused Medusa to continuously cast the split shot until she was stunned, silenced or she runned out of mana.
- The Spell projectile was Medusa's arrows. The arrows had a 1200 projectile speed.
- The arrows could not proc any Attack modifiers like bash or lifesteal.

- Can never hit the same unit twice per cast.
- This is how much damage each bounce deals:

- Level 3: 225/191.25/162.56/138.18/117.45/99.83/84.86 damage

- Cannot be cast when a chain lightning from a previous cast is still bouncing.
Mana Shield (Pre 7.32e)[]
Passive Mana Bonus: 120/180/240/300
Damage Absorption: 70%
While Medusa was not gifted with eternal life upon birth, her curse bestowed her with impressive defensive powers.
- This ability was reworked in 7.33.
- Does not interrupt Medusa's channeling abilities upon toggling On / Off.
- Mana Shield persists through Medusa's death. If Mana Shield was active upon death, she respawns with it active.
- Reduces damage before any damage reduction takes place, including from damage block or damage negating sources (e.g. Aphotic Shield), as long as Medusa has mana when toggled On.
- This also affects everything which works directly with damage dealt after reductions (e.g. Soul Burn).
- Applies unique incoming damage reduction on Medusa. Stacks multiplicatively with all other sources of incoming damage manipulation.
- Affects all damage types Medusa recieve. Does not reduce damage flagged as HP removal.
- Increases Medusa's effective health by 0.91/1.19/1.47/1.75 ( 4.41/4.69/4.97/5.25) per point of mana when toggled On, assuming she has enough mana.
- Both leveling up ability and the damage absorption per mana increasing talent does not update the current active instance.

- Can only affect units once per cast.
- Stone Gaze ends when Medusa dies.

- Pre 6.00, Medusa had 2 ultimates, one being this, the other being Mana Shield, both were reworked into regular abilities in the 6.00 patch.
- Unlike regular ultimates, Split Shot required level 5/9/13 to be leveled.
- The secondary arrows travel at the same speed as the original attack (1200) and can be disjointed. However, they cannot miss.
- Secondary arrows are launched at the 4/5/6 closest visible targets to Medusa. Invisible or fogged units are unaffected.
