Dota 2 Wiki:Admin noticeboard

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

• This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
• Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
• Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
• Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
• Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
• For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene.

Current Issues

Overly aggressive language filter

I'm not sure what was causing the rule to trigger, but I tried to add Tidehunter to the Phantom Lancer counter's page and it kept getting flagged for inappropriate language. I tried making several changes and couldn't get it to go through. I was just talking about Kraken Shell and Anchor Smash making him very difficult to damage with illusions and Ravage being effective AOE damage and disable. I was using correct formatting as far as I can tell.

Abaddon Talent addition not functioning

I'm attempting to update the Abaddon Hero page to show talent-scaled ability numbers in line like most other pages do. I started basically from the ground up since the page was building ability information straight from a dpl which mostly works fine. The part that doesn't work regardless of if I use the visual or source editor, is the calc command:

Instead of doing the calculation given, the page returns the following error:

Lua error in Module:Calculate at line 35: Unrecognized word "v" in expression "v1+75".

This is the way other pages sources seem to be formatted, so I'm curious if there is some other way these values have to be calculated or if I'm overlooking something. This is my first time editing with this much Lua so that seems very possible from my side.

Because of Abaddon's abilities got separated to sub-pages like "Abaddon/Mist Coil", your variant wouldn't work. This one would:

{{calc|v1+{{show|T|Abaddon|talent2left value}}|v1={{#show:Abaddon/Mist Coil#Mist Coil|?value3#}}}}

But this is only for Abaddon, because his page is unique and, I think, because of testing purposes. Medok 21:24, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

WIKI-PT

I checked pt:Template:Hero Infobox and pt:Abaddon. The heroes table is missing on the page value stats page. It's very weird. Recreating pt:Special:CargoTables/heroes didn't do anything. I'll look further. Molldust (talk) 08:42, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

I can reproduce the error now: agility/strength/intelligence growth aren't allowed to be float numbers: diff. I think this is related to pt:Template:Commafix or the expression parser. User:Medok might know what's up. Molldust (talk) 09:31, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Resolved Issues

Disassemble page is showing item recipes from Dota Imba (Sange and Yasha specifically)

Loading external info-boxes with abilities fails

Cast range is broken due to some kind of update?

Cast range competely crash. It says in the tables: "A database query error has occurred. Did you forget to run your application's database schema updater after upgrading?"

Lua error of {{{Show|A|item name|valueX}}

We Cannot get the value of some abilities using the {{{Show|A|item name|valueX}}.

The values of three item's ability cannot be obtained: Shiva's Guard, Vladmir's Offering and Eul's Scepter of Divinity, example:

{{show|A|Shiva's Guard|Freezing Aura|value2}} --> 45
{{Show|A|Vladmir's Offering|Vladmir's Aura|value5}} --> 18%
{{show|A|Eul's Scepter of Divinity|Cyclone|value3}} --> 50

it does works on other items, like:

{{show|A|Scythe of Vyse|Hex|value3}} --> 2.8

It occur on following pages: Cyclone,Mana regeneration,Summons...

There should had been more pages with this error, but this problem was fixed by hand coding by previous editors including me (ie: type the value directly).

Or they change the {{{Show|A|item name|valueX}} into {{#var:Ability name valueX}} but it can only get the values of ability in same page. And the pages mentioned above cannot be fixed by that.

The same problem also occur in all the abilities of Nature's Prophet like, it seems NP is the only hero suffering this problem:

{{show|A|Nature's Prophet|Nature's Call|value3}} --> 2/3/4/5
{{show|A|Nature's Prophet|Sprout|value3}} --> 250

Same problem in Warlock's Golem of Warlock:

{{show|A|Warlock's Golem|Flaming Fists|value1}} -->

and they should work like:

{{show|A|Crystal Maiden|Crystal Nova|value3}} --> 110/160/210/260

This is an ongoing battle with apostrophes. As you may have noticed all of the problematic ones contain one (Nature's Prophet). Cargo does not like stuff like line breaks and apostrophes. This may take longer to fix, it's a very deep issue. Molldust (talk) 10:39, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
