Abilities that are not listed here have no interaction with debuff immunity. They neither place debuffs, nor deal magical, pure, or reflected damage or interact with mana.

Fully piercing[]

These abilities fully affect debuff immune units.

Fully piercing debuff immunity

The following abilities require an upgrade to pierce debuff immunity

1 Requires a Talent talent.
2 Requires Aghanim's Scepter icon Aghanim's Scepter.
3 Requires Aghanim's Shard icon Aghanim's Shard.

Partially piercing[]

These abilities are more complex and have mixed interactions with debuff immunity, either partially piercing debuff immunity, or having conditions which change their interactions with debuff immunity (e.g. a talent or an upgrade changing behaviors).

Partially piercing debuff immunity
  • Spinner's Snare icon
    Does not react on debuff immune enemies at all. If the unit turns debuff immune while already affected by Spinner's Snare the root is blocked and the damage is reduced, but the target is still exposed.
  • Power Cogs icon
    Does not react on debuff immune enemies at all. If the unit turns debuff immune while already affected by Power Cogs, the knockback is canceled instantly, the damage is reduced, and the mana burn is blocked.
  • Bad Juju icon
    The armor reduction debuff is affected by debuff resistance. The self-debuff on cast is not affected.
  • Kinetic Field icon
    Does not affect debuff immune units at all, not placing the debuff, and being instantly removed as soon as the unit turns debuff immune.
  • Boulder Smash icon
    The knockback is canceled instantly. However, the damage and stun are still applied in a line as if it was not canceled.
  • Geomagnetic Grip icon
    When cast on a debuff immune enemy that is affected by Enchant Remnant icon Enchant Remnant, the pull gets instantly canceled, but the Geomagnetic Grip debuff gets stuck on the enemy until they die. While the debuff is stuck, they cannot be pulled by further casts.
  • Enchant Remnant icon
    Only the stun aspect is prevented by debuff immunity. The unit still stays invulnerable and untargetable.
  • Time Dilation icon
    Does not slow debuff immune enemies, but does reduces their cooldown rate.
  • Soulbind icon
    Does not connect to secondary debuff immune units. If the primary target is debuff immune, does not connect to other units at all. Shared vision, exposing and spell copying fully pierces debuff immunity.
  • Bushwhack icon
    Does not react on debuff immune enemies at all. If the unit turns debuff immune while already affected by Bushwhack, the unit is not stunned and can act freely, but cannot move and still has no vision.
  • E.M.P. icon
    Does not affect debuff immune units at all.
  • Will-O-Wisp icon
    Does not affect debuff immune units at all, not placing the debuff.
  • Savage Roar icon
    Does not fear debuff immune enemies, but still increases their movement speed.
  • Spear of Mars icon
    The forced movement is instantly canceled. However, if the spear connects with an obstactle, the debuff is still placed as if the unit was dragged along. The debuff is still subjected to debuff immunity.
  • Mystic Snake icon
    The damage and slow debuff are affected by debuff immunity. When upgraded, does not place the Stone Gaze icon Stone Gaze debuff on debuff immune enemies.
  • Parting Shot icon
    Does not place the debuff on debuff immune units at all, only applying the damage. If the unit turns debuff immune while already affected by Parting Shot, the unit is not stunned and can act freely, but the incoming damage reduction and the illusion remain.
  • Purifying Flames icon
    Initial damage is reduced by debuff immunity, but the heal over time still occurs and is unaffected.
  • Rolling Thunder icon
    The forced movement is instantly canceled. The damage is reduced, however the stun debuff is not placed at all.
  • Roll Up icon
    The forced movement is instantly canceled. The damage is reduced, however the stun debuff is not placed at all.
  • Smoke Screen icon
    Does not silence and blind debuff immune enemies. When upgraded, does not reduce armor of debuff immune enemies, but still makes them untargetable to allies.
  • Mana Burn (Satyr Mindstealer) icon
    Does not affect debuff immune units at all.
  • Pounce icon
    Does not leash or slow debuff immune units. Pounce has no max stretch distance, so the unit can move any distance without breaking the leash. If the unit loses the debuff immunity, they can still move freely, but are leashed again, unable to use mobility spells.
  • Dispel Magic (Storm) icon
    Does not affect debuff immune enemies at all.
  • Reflection icon
    Does not affect debuff immune units at all, not placing the debuff.
  • Sunder icon
    Does not change the health of debuff immune units, ally and enemy. The caster's own health does change.
  • Laser icon
    Does not blind or reduce max health of debuff immune units. Does reduce the model size of debuff immune units.
  • Toss icon
    Cannot toss debuff immune units. Can toss towards debuff immune units. Damage is reduced by debuff immunity.
  • Winter's Curse icon
    Pierces debuff immunity on the primary target. Does not affect debuff immune secondary units.
  • Force Staff icon
    Cannot be cast on debuff immune enemies at all.
  • Medallion of Courage icon
    Does not reduce armor of debuff immune units, including the caster.This is an old ability.
  • Solar Crest icon
    Does not affect debuff immune units, including the caster.

Not piercing[]

These abilities do not pierce debuff immunity, meaning that:

  • Their debuffs stop affecting the target
  • Magical damage is reduced
  • Pure and reflected damage are fully negated
Not piercing debuff immunity
1 The forced movement component of these abilities is immediately canceled, all other aspects continue.
2 On-death effects always work, regardless of debuff immunity.
3 Unlike other sources of forced movement, Electric Vortex icon Electric Vortex's debuff is not fully removed by debuff immunity, it instead stops pulling while debuff immune and resumes once no longe debuff immune.

The following abilities do not pierce debuff immunity, but still provide True Sight over the target, expose the target, or grant shared vision over the target.
