- This cosmetic is heavily inspired by Faceless Void's original appearance in DotA. His model is taken from the Cthulhu-inspired race of Faceless Ones from the Warcraft universe.
- Faceless Void's voice line for an allied Wraith/Skeleton King, ▶️ “I could talk to you forever.” is a reference to the both of them sharing the same voice actor, Dave Fennoy.
- ▶️ “The mouth of madness...opens wide.” is a possible reference to the movie In the Mouth of Madness directed by John Carpenter. The film contains references to H.P. Lovecraft's works, which inspired the foundation of Faceless Void's original design as a Lovecraftian being and by extension the Lovecraftian monster design featured in this Arcana.
- ▶️ “A color out of my space.” is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's The Colour Out Of Space.
- His voice line for the Necronomicon, ▶️ r “There's a lot in this one about Clasz.” is a reference to the original Necronomicon in Lovecraft's works. The book has relations with the Old Ones.
