Ability
Passive
Affects
Enemy Units
Increases attack damage against non-hero units by 10 for melee heroes, and 5 for ranged.
Attack Damage Bonus (Melee): 10
Attack Damage Bonus (Ranged): 5

  • Stacks with the Quell of Quelling Blade icon Quelling Blade, but not with additional Battle Furies.
  • The attack damage bonus adapts immediately depending on the wielder's range type (Melee melee or Ranged ranged).
  • Quell is considered as a conditional attack damage bonus.
    • Although the attack damage bonus values are not displayed in the HUD, it is still considered and directly added to wielder's attack damage.
    • The attack damage bonus values are considered by critical strike, cleave, splash, lifesteal and with certain abilities (e.g. Psi Blades icon Psi Blades and Moon Glaives icon Moon Glaives)
    • It can be reduced only by flat reductions (e.g. damage block).
    • Since it is considered bonus attack damage, it is not affected by percentage-based attack damage bonuses or reductions.

Damage
Physical
Deals 70% of attack damage as physical damage in a cone up to 650 around the target. Deals 40% against creeps. (Melee Only)
Starting Radius: 150
Distance: 650
End Radius: 360
Cleave Damage (Heroes): 70%
Cleave Damage (Creeps): 40%

  • Grants cleave if the affected hero's range type is Melee melee.
  • Cleave damage has the following properties:
    • It counts as spell damage. However, it has the following flags:
    • Cleave damage depends on the attack damage value of the cleaving unit, not on how much their primary attack target took. It is reduced by damage block.
  • The complete cleave area is shaped like an isosceles trapezoid in front of the attacking unit.
    • Multiple sources of cleave fully stack and work independently.
    • Does not cleave upon attacking wards, buildings or allied units. Animal Courier Radiant minimap icon Couriers, wards and buildings are unaffected by cleave.
    • Despite the visual effect, the cleave damage is applied instantly in the whole area.

Recommended Heroes[]

Anti-Mage icon
  • Anti-Mage needs Battle Fury to farm, since he is terrible without items and has trouble farming fast without it. Combined with Blink (Anti-Mage) icon Blink, he can flash-farm the jungle and quickly build his much needed items if not ganked.

Tips[]

  • The Battle Fury is great tool for farming but a poor choice for mid game skirmishes owing to its lack of primary attributes. Avoid it if the enemy team plays aggressively and your presence is required in team fights early. In such cases, it is better to opt for a Maelstrom icon Maelstrom instead, which provides both early farming and fighting capability, and can later be upgraded into Gleipnir icon Gleipnir or Mjollnir icon Mjollnir.
  • Effective against illusions, summoned units, jungle stacks, ancient stacks and mega creeps.
    • A Battle Fury allows a melee hero to farm faster than a Hand of Midas icon Hand of Midas. You can get this item after Boots of Speed icon Boots of Speed, start with a Cornucopia icon Cornucopia if you are laning or get damage. If you are jungling, then get a mobility item like Blink Dagger icon Blink Dagger to reach camps faster.
  • The cleave benefits from critical hits, including those from items and ignores evasion.
  • Having Battle Fury can help greatly against an enemy Nature's Prophet minimap icon Nature's Prophet, since some carries have little means to escape his Sprout icon Sprout without it (the most obvious being Juggernaut minimap icon Juggernaut and Troll Warlord minimap icon Troll Warlord)
  • Melee heroes with high attack speed can push far more effectively with Battle Fury, even in late game. Critical hits help too.
