Modos alternativos (Custom Games) são modos do jogo que diferem do Dota 2 tradicional. A maioria dos modos alternativos foram criados pela comunidade com as Workshop Tools. Passes de modos alternativos podem ser comprados para acessar alguns modos e conteúdos exclusivos.
